Composer: Wood, Charles
Sample Producer: Lavender Audio
Sample Set: Hereford Cathedral Willis Organ
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Romantic
Description:
The "Third Prelude - Psalm cxxiv (124)" is a bright toccata in the key of D major, and is based upon the text of "Our help standeth in the Name of the Lord." Many people will recoginze this well-known tune as being sung to the text of "Turn back, O man".

The psalm text is emphasized by Wood's setting the tune in canon at the 4th between the soprano and bass voices, with the toccata texture in between.

The registration is Great full through mixtures coupled to the Full Swell, almost closed, which opens throughout. The Pedal is full without the big reeds.

After the chorale has been stated completely, there is a brief coda, that features active pedal figuration, building eventually to the full organ.
