Description:	Rumour has it that this piece was the inspiration for Thalben-Ball's famous Elegy. Thalben-Ball was dared to improvise a tune similar to Walford-Davies' Solemn Melody as the voluntary for a broadcast of Choral Evensong from The Temple Church. The original is every bit as good, in my opinion.
