Fuga D Moll

An exiting Fugue by Domenico Scarlatti (26 October 1685 – 23 July 1757), the famous Italian composer.

Played on the beautiful 1766 Karl Joseph Riepp Dreifaltigkeits Organ, with its rich disposition (and in this case its fiery Pedal reeds).

Domenico Scarlatti is classified primarily as a Baroque composer chronologically, although his music was influential in the development of the Classical style. Like his famous father Alessandro Scarlatti, he composed in a variety of musical forms, although today he is known mainly for his 555 keyboard sonatas. He spent much of his life in the service of the Portuguese and Spanish royal families.

This Fugue has a lot of energy, that keeps building up from the beginning straight forward to the majestic conclusion; quite a long and powerful journey!
