| Description: | Sonate in B-Dur für Orgel "Hauchzet Ihr Himmel" op.10 Nr.20
Over the many months during which I uploaded virtually nothing, a small backlog of beautiful music has accumulated.
Several sonatas with wonderful melodies have been created again—one of them is perfect for the Christmas season—well, perhaps not quite so fitting after Carnival and just before Easter...
Then I was plagued by technical problems with GrandOrgue, which now seem to have been resolved by reverting to version 3.13.
So – let's seize the moment and fill it with beautiful music!
Jauchzet Ihr Himmel, a Christmas carol that is not quite so catchy, but sounds all the more beautiful and is a very good template for arranging into a sonata... following a familiar pattern.
After a 4-part song setting, we hear another 3-part setting in which the voices become audibly more agile, which then leads into a 4-part fugue.
This time, it is not as expansive as in my previous sonata, so that the sonata concludes fairly quickly with a repeat performance of the song setting with the full Mascioni organ.
P.S.
This is my 499th upload—I will be back in a few weeks with a particularly beautiful and expansive composition to celebrate my 500th post with you all! |
