This exquisite organ chorale is the third of the Schübler Chorales and is a direct transcription of the fourth movement of Cantata 93, a duet for soprano and alto, composed around two decades earlier for the fifth Sunday after Trinity. In this organ version, the original vocal lines are transformed into a lyrical, intertwined dialogue for the manuals, while the chorale melody itself (the cantus firmus) is played by the pedals.
The delicious 8' +4' flutes of the BW are heard against the HW + pedal 4' Octave.
The big question was whether to tremulant or not.
I decided that both were gorgeous, so have included both!
