Since we are in the midst of a Langlais-fest, I thought I would share a piece I wrote several years ago (2008?) as an homage to Jean Langlais - I'd been playing one of his Preludes on American Hymns, and fell in love with the spicy harmonies.
While some of the chord progressions are more my "flavor", the spirit is still there, I hope - and similar registration, too. (Langlais used a 4' flute accompanied by celestes, I used the 2' Doublette and the Réc. Octavin, and alternate between the Pos. Unda Maris/Bourdon and Réc. Gambe/Voix Celeste).
