Grande Piéce Symphonique (Complete)

Franck of the month for March brings us to the vast Grande Piece, the second of Six Pieces.

So, my original intention of using St Omer as my go to for the Six Pieces is out of the window. Basically, I have fallen in love with Caen and it does have all the colours required for this monumental canvas. The Andante is robbed of its last ounce of effectiveness without the 32’ pedal & choir undulant; at least that is my excuse!

It is a very long piece & if, like me, you have been put off in the past, I would understand you avoiding this recording! However, why not give it a try…..?
