The viruses that are raging in France at the moment do not spare me. I’m late in all my activities. Joint pain doesn't make it easy. But it will be better tomorrow….
Thomas (Forestpipes) is preparing a new sample, a real big and prestigious organ, well known as is his titular, Günther Kaunzinger.
I still managed to record a few works in recent days. It's not perfect, but it shows some possibilities. There have already been some great impressive improvisations published here on CCH. I add here my personal touch to it.
I must say that I also forgot to adjust the recording level, so during editing I reduced the loudest parts (Lefébure-Wély) by 2 db. I hope all is audible.
I propose you a program from 1700 to 2025…
Of course, french baroque music to begin with some parts of an anonymous mass composed around 1700 (Pleins-Jeux, Fugue, Récit, Duo, Duo, Basse de cromorne).
Then an Offertoire sur le grand Choeur (
4:12) composed by Isaac-François Lefébure-Wely for his son.
After such "delicious" music, some serious one with one of my favorite choral (
7:41), Vater unser composed by Georg Böhm with Walther's ornements.
As I'm a fan of Gustav Mahler's music, I work since few months on a transcription of the well known Adagietto from the fifth symphony. Like the sample.... it's a beta version (
12:58).
In this piece, the Fernwerk is very useful.
This organ has a lot of possibilities. The choir organ (also sampled) has also a nice personnality.
To finish this presentation, I dare to offer you two improvisations in different styles. First an Allegro for the flute (
20:46), and a meditation (
23:02).
I had recorded another piece with the tutti, but the level was to high.....
