Johann Baptist Schiedermayr (1779-1840) was an Austrian composer and church musician of the late classical period at the transition to early romanticism. He was cathedral organist in Linz.
He composed a series of pastoral preludes for the Christmas season. This one is the best known and most played.
It fits perfectly with the sound of the late baroque Stumm organ in Meisenheim.
