Description:
2025 - Happy New Year!
Arrigo Cappelletti (1877-1946) - not to be confused with the modern jazz composer and pianist of the same name - was an Italian musician, composer and organist from Como. He received his music education in Como and Bologna and at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory. After his musical activities in Bologna and at the conservatory in Milan, he returned to Como, where he was music director and organist at San Fedele. He played there on a Prestinari organ from 1827 as well as on the Mascioni instrument (IIIP/49) from 1941, which still exists today. The 'Canto di gioia' is a wonderful little bel canto song for organ.
