Johann Bernhard Bach (23 May 1676 – 11 June 1749) was a German organist , harpsichordist , and composer

In 1703 he was harpsichordist at the court of Eisenach and organist at the Church of St. George, succeeding his uncle Johann Christoph Bach (1642-1703) . There he had the opportunity to work between 1708 and 1712 with Georg Philipp Telemann , who influenced his work.

He maintained a lifelong friendship with his famous cousin Johann Sebastian Bach . In 1715, he acted as godfather to Johann Sebastian's son Johann Gottfried Bernhard , while Johann Sebastian became godfather to Johann Bernhard's eldest son Johann Ernst in 1722.
