Herr Jesu Christ, mein Lebenslicht

Sorge’s choral prelude to “Herr Jesu Christ, mein Lebenslicht” is again a charming piece. The introduction has two voices on the accompanying manual. After the choral melody enters, the accompiment reverts to one voice. The texture of the piece is therefore tio-like throughout. With very little means Sorge creates a piece that sticks to the mind.

The chorale is meant for funeral occasions, so I've kept the tempo moderato, although the pulse of the piece feels quite dance-like.
