Iteke Prins (b. 1937) — Partita on “St. George’s Windsor” (2012) for organ
Iteke Prins (b. 1937) was born in Katwijk aan Zee, South Holland (Netherlands). Her family immigrated to Canada and then in 1949 to the USA. Prins became a registered nurse for her primary occupation, while also serving from 1969–2005 as organist and music director at Blooming Grove Reformed Church in Rensselaer, New York. She has studied organ and composition with Alfred V. Fedak. As a composer, Prins has focused primarily on the composition of hymn tunes, and several collections of her work in this genre have been published. She has also published works for organ and choirs.
