Johann Adam Hiller (1728-1804) was a German composer, conductor and writer on music. He was also a teacher who encouraged musical education for women. He took lessons from Gottfried August Homilius. Later on in his life he even became cantor at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, the same position as Johann Sebastian Bach.

This trio is part of a collection of six trios that Auke Jongblod from Partitura Organum edited. It's not sure this trio is from Hiller, but Auke mentions it could be. Hence the question mark.
