American church musician and composer Kenneth T. Kosche (b. 1947) was born in Chicago and was educated at the University of Illinois (B.S. and M.S.) and University of Washington (DMA). A teacher for forty years, he taught first in public schools in Illinois before moving to Seattle for his doctoral study. After a year teaching at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, he joined the faculty of Concordia University Wisconsin in 1978 and remained there until his retirement in 2009. During his years at CUW, Kosche was the director of the Concordia Chorale (chapel choir) and Kammerchor (touring choir), served as director of the parish music program, and taught conducting, choral literature, and composition. In addition to his teaching, Kosche has served as a parish musician in Illinois, Washington, Wisconsin, and Montana. From 1979 to 1988 he also directed the Lutheran A Capella Choir of Milwaukee. Kosche has published hundreds of musical compositions with many publishers, primarily sacred keyboard and choral music.
