Australian organist Kurt Ison (b. 1965) was educated at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and in Paris and Bologna. He has given organ recitals around the world in venues including Notre-Dame Cathedral (Paris), St. Paul’s Cathedral (London), Westminster Abbey (London), Washington National Cathedral (USA), St. Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue (USA) and the Hong Kong Concert Hall. Within his native Australia, he has presented concerts at the Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide Town Halls and the cathedrals in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Ison has been an active organ teacher and has also composed a small number of works, primarily choral music.
