Thomas Åberg was born in Stockholm 1952 and works there as composer and music administrator. Most of his works are written for the organ and are characterized by their rhythmical joy, simplicity and humor. His music has been performed by organists at festivals throughout Europe and also in Japan and the USA. He also tours regularly as concert organist with his own works.

"Fantasy in A Minor" dates from 1980 and is an attractive, multi-sectional piece that I think would have a lot of appeal to a recital audience. I believe this is one of the composer's most popular works.
There is a strong feel of the "Spanish Flamenco" about this one. At least that's the way it struck me. :-)
A photo of Thomas Åberg is attached below.
During the coming days, I will be uploading more of Åberg's music. These works vary greatly in style, dynamics and color, and will probably aid in expanding our minds as to what organ music can sound like. :-)
Tomorrow: "Legend No. 6."
