Description: | Nice trio by a composer I never heard of before, but the name was all too familiar, as "aunty" Mien Beutler was our neighbour in Rotterdam when I was a little kid.
She was an unmarried lady living with her father, who was the former captain of the "Nieuw Amsterdam", an ocean liner running a two weekly service from Rotterdam to New York and back.
The ship is now on exhibition in Rotterdam.
Auntie Mien had studied biology and was the boss of the laboratory of the "Melkunie", a dairy product firm where I got a job cleaning up and sweeping during the summer holidays to earn some money.
She tested among other things the quality of the ice cream and had the final say on the production.
I've never eaten so many icecreams in my life in four weeks time!
Put me off the icecream for years!
Anyhow, all this has absolutely nothing to do with this composer, as the name Beutler is not unfamiliar in Germany.
Nice tricky Trio! |
