Description: | These are four parts of the "Suite in old style" (composed in 1944) by C.F. Bute (1889-1979).
'Bute was blind from birth and attended the school for the blind in Amsterdam from the age of eight. He received his first organ lessons from C. F. Hendriks jun. and piano lessons from B. Idis. He soon became assistant organist of the Reformed congregation in Amsterdam. In 1908 he was given a temporary position at the Grote of Sint-Walburgskerk in Zutphen, which was converted into a permanent position two years later. He was essentially self-taught. In 1928 he obtained his B diploma as a church and concert organist. He later began studying carillon with the equally blind carilloneur Willem Créman and was appointed city carilloneur of Zutphen in 1950.'
