Uploaded by: Carillon (01/10/24)
Composer: Scheidemann, Heinrich
Sample Producer: Sonus Paradisi
Sample Set: Petruskerk, Leens, Albertus Anthoni Hinsz 1733
Software: Hauptwerk VIII
Genre: Baroque
Description:
At the center of Scheidemann's cantus-firmus-free oeuvre is not the large-scale form of Sweelinck's Fantasia, but the comparatively modest form of the Praeambulum. It is based on a short, functional improvisation with an often sequenced or fugal arrangement of the middle section.
Two of these works are combined in this recording and deliberately played with contrasting registrations.

The recording shows the status of the organ after restoration (the set allows switching before/after).
