Psalm 1

Choral variation on the first Psalm from the book Koraalbewerkingen over de 150 Psalmen, published by Boekencentrum in the early 1990s. Composer is Bert Matter, organist of the Walburgiskerk in Zutphen (recorded for Hauptwerk by the way, but I don't have the set). Matter was known for his minimal music. I have chosen a somewhat idiosyncratic and slow tempo (there is no indication) because my association is that in that way, the staccato repetitive motive symbolizes the 'walking' of which the psalm speaks.
