Johann Georg Herzog's Tonstücke are always nice to dive into and nice to record some from time to time. Hereby a firm plenum piece. This Tonstück uses the hymn tune of the famous hymn 'Lobe den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren', which could be a fine chorale prelude. Although Herzog is a late 19th century composer, he was more conservative in his compositions, compared to Reger, Karg-Elert and other giants. However, it's very well crafted.
