This fugue was formerly attributed to Bohuslav Matěj Černohorský.

The sheet music available places the bass line of Czech baroque organ music into the pedals. However, it was impossible to play the bass line with the pedals due to the small range (usually less than two octaves) and the assignment of F# and G# (lower octave pipes) to the f# and g# keys of the upper octave.

This music was mainly played on the manuals.The pedals were only used at cadences or for pedal points.
