| Description: | The project is slowly gaining momentum .... Here, after a short break, is my op.11 No. 2 - Prelude and Fugue in C minor.
As a prelude we hear a slower piece, an Andante, which I play with 2 flute notes 8" Gedackt and the obligatory sub-bass in the pedal.
This is followed by a fugue for 4 voices based on a powerful motif, it can really be modelled very well with this motif, so we hear an inversion, an expansion, and the motif in different keys. It closes with an organ point on the dominant and a very broad, dazzling C major chord.
In the pedal, you need three legs on the last C (hehe) ....
And so we are at the 2nd theme - playability. While the prelude can be fingered to some extent (with 2-3 exceptions), it is relatively quickly clear that it doesn't work in the fugue. I'm sorry, guys, my horses have bolted ....
Well, I'm going to start looking for a motif for No. 3. One thing is already clear: it will be half a tone higher and in D flat major. |
