Bach J.S. - Fugue Gm (BWV 915) Uploaded by: jepisi Composer: Bach, J. S. Organ: Walcker Organ from Miskolc Catholic Church Software: Hauptwerk VI Views: 77
The last piece by Jean-Paul inspired me again to write a fugue to the very beautiful melody: for sure a heavenly fragrance.
Which organ fits better than the beautiful, dazzling organ in St.Jean de Luc near Biarritz?
What is remarkable about jean-Paul's melody is that the counterpoint of Bach's first piece from the Art of Fugue fits exactly, so why not use it ....
And the first part of my fugue is just as calm as the first counterpoint from the Art of Fugue. The theme in the 4th voice in the pedal ends the exposition. Now a few voices are added and the so-called "development" begins with the inversion of the theme. A chromatic descent in bar 53 leads G minor almost unnoticed to E minor, i.e. a minor third lower, in which it is reinterpreted as a D flat in the third voice. The second cadenza ends with an E major chord and is followed by the conclusion with the now fully registered organ.
