| Description: | Hermann Robert Frenzel is a composer from the German romantic period. Besides two nice collections of chorale preludes on IMSLP, I couldn't find much information about Frenzel. If you find more information about his life, let me know.
A chorale prelude on the hymn "Den die Hirten lobten sehre", also known as "Him the Shepherds Praise So Greatly". The composer prescribes the use of two manuals and a pedal, so at first I went for that approach (first version) with a couple of 8', 4' and 2' flutes, they should be about the same volume. Then my daughter decided it was fun to push the Tutti button of this organ and voila: a second (non-authentic) version was born in a full tutti registration. Because I like how it sounds, this version is added in the video. |
