Composer: Bach, Ahle, Buxtehude, Balbastre, Buttstett, Walther, Liardon
Sample Producer: OrganArt Media
Sample Set: 1766 Riepp Dreifaltigkeits Organ, Ottobeuren, Germany
Software: Hauptwerk VII
Genre: Baroque
Description:
OrganArt Media just published the Hauptwerk sample set of the beautiful Dreifaltigkeits organ of the Basilika in Ottobeuren. Karl Joseph Riepp built this organ in 1766, together with the smaller Heilig Geist organ, both in the same church. You could call it a South German organ, but French baroque & classical repertoire and even some North German pieces do sound very well on it. And, of course, Bach...

I compiled a small program of nine pieces, mostly related to Advent. The hymn 'Herr Christ, der einig Gottes Sohn' was related to many feast days in the past and therefore appropriate for Advent. At the end I play a Noël by Balbastre, to look forward to Christmas.

A small hommage to this sample set, but even more to Helmut Maier who put so much effort into this model with a terrific result.

Due to the upload limit of Contrebombarde the audio track is in the lower MP3 quality 192 kbps. The audio quality in the video is in WAV 24 bit, although YouTube probably compromises something of that.
The time stamps of the 9 different pieces are in the timeline of the video.
