This small prelude in G major is a typical example of a North German prelude in the stylus phantasticus. It directly starts with a pedal solo, followed by some big chords. Afther that some fugue themes and it ends with a final in which scales and a pedal point are important (preferably played in a plenum registration). Probably not the best summary of a North German prelude...
This is possibly Buxtehude's earliest written organ prelude, as stated by Klaus Beckmann.
