Composer: Bach, Johann Sebastian
Sample Producer: Piotr Grabowski
Sample Set: Erfurt, Büßleben, St. Petri Kirche
Software: Hauptwerk VII
Genre: Baroque
Description:
This piece is part of the collection of Neumeister Chorales. This collection consists of pieces by Johann Michael Bach, Sorge, Zachow and also Johann Sebastian Bach. He probably wrote these chorales at a young age.

At first glance this piece looks like a manualiter piece. But it's often possible to play the cantus firmus in the pedals, using a 4' stop an octave lower or a 2' stop two octaves lower. That's what I did here, using the 2' Cornet as solo pedal stop.
Although I don't often use this organ/sample set on my channel, I like it very much. It has a lot of character, certainly due to the voicing, dry acoustics, meantone temperament and pitch (529 Hz!). Certainly not every German baroque piece sounds convincing on it, but when you do find a fitting piece for it, it sounds great on it and often gives a fascinating result.

Note: the score I played from has some small differences from the score I present in the video.
