Genre: Baroque
Description:
I think this version of this piece of music is a Masterpiece, by Dietrich Buxtehude, which so many people visited to learn more from and enjoy his music ( He was visited by G F Handel, G P Telemann, Bach and Johann Mattheson). As we know, said before, Bach stayed 16 weeks !

In 1703, Handel and Mattheson both traveled to meet Buxtehude. He offered his position in Lübeck to Handel and Mattheson but stipulated that the organist who ascended to it must marry his eldest daughter, Anna Margareta. Both Handel and Mattheson turned the offer down, so did Bach too
1705-1706. (Organist Buxtehude had three unmarried daughters; the oldest was twenty-five and the youngest twenty)
Contemporaries praised his musical abilities, which included composing, playing organ and harpsichord, and conducting concerts.

Musical scholars say some of Bach’s compositions show the influence of Buxtehude. Bach’s organ preludes, toccatas and fugues frequently employ similar techniques.

Undoubtedly a great deal of Buxtehude's keyboard and chamber music has been lost.

Who? Johann Mattheson (28 September 1681 - 17 April 1764) was a German composer, singer, writer, lexicographer, diplomat, music theorist.

Hope you enjoy the nice melody tune with registration Musette 8`Positif and Voice Celeste 8` Recit, both with tremulant. I think it is wonderful :)

Best wishes,

Stig
