Noel Joseph est bien marie

This is the second noel in the first Suite of Michel Corrette (1708 - 1795).

Joseph is well maried
to the daughter of Jesse.
It was a really new thing
to be mother and virgin at once
God has operated a miracle, Joseph is well maried.

When Joseph understood
that his wife was pregnant
He was not very happy
but angry towards Mary

But an angle did tell him:
Joseph be not angry
Your holy wife Mary
is pregnant with the fruit of life
She is pregnant without sin
Joseph is well maried.
