Description:
These variations on St. Benedict were composed by Denis Bédard this year (2021) for another Australian organist, Pastor de Lasala. The hymn tune was written by Dom Stephen Moreno OSB, a Catholic priest formerly at the Benedictine Community of New Norcia, Western Australia. I'd like to assume that de Lasala was inspired by the many recordings I have made of Moreno's two part works with Swell Vox (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXXUZU0pCupAg2Z10_b-fM5Iq5DxWaxtV) and decided that an organ piece would be quite fitting!
