The composer himself about this piece:
"This work started as a sort of musical joke: what happens if one combines the style of late 18th century Italian organ sonatas with a very well-known American Shaker melody?
Well, it turned out that two extremely different musical worlds could (more or less) seriously live together in the same piece."
I've never played on the sample set of the Mascioni organ of Giubiasco, but I liked how this piece sound on it. Tight principals and mixtures, chirpy reeds, delightful flutes...
The piece is dedicated to some Dutch organist, called Ralph Looij. Never heard of him... ;)
