The Profundis clamavi: From the depths I call.
Words from Psalm 130, which was titled 'Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu Dir' in the collection of hymns by Martin Luther.
In music history, this melody was widely used. Not at least by the great Johann Sebastian Bach who gave this theme a dramatic depth in his BWV 686 (Clavierübung III).
This chorale arrangement is part of a collection which we call the 'Great Organ Mass'.
Pierre Cochereau, former organist of Notre-Dame in Paris, played this work with wind ensemble at the funeral of President Pompidu, April 1974. There's a recording of this historical (musical) moment. It touches me time after time.
It's Bach, seen through romantic glasses, but played with great reverence and dedication!

That's why I used the sample set of Rotterdam (main organ/Marcussen).
The chamade trumpets of Netherlands largest church organ remind me of the impressive recording of Pierre Cochereau.
