Allegro Moderato

This is another Warder Harvey piece from the Village Organist collection I recently rediscovered on IMSLP.

The first piece didn't conjure up a very specific idea in my mind of the composer, but from this one I got the strong impression of a rather forbidding, self-important figure, probably rather overweight with a big bushy beard. I have absolutely no evidence for this beyond my imagination; I've not been able to locate any pictures. I later discovered that his family was vegetarian, teetotal, non-smoking and anti-vaccinationist which, at that time (second half of the 19th and early part of the 20th centuries), probably meant that he was fairly puritanical and strait-laced.
