Description:
This music comes the socalled "Neumeister manuscript". In the 1980's this manuscript was quite a hot topic as it was recently rediscovered and turned out to contain 38 hitherto unknown compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. And perhaps even more importantly, the manuscript contained at least 24 compositions by Johann Michael Bach, cousin and father-in-law of Johann Sebastian Bach of whom before this discoevery only 8 organ works were known. And in addition the manuscript contains another 5 unattributed works, that are quite possibly composed by Johann Michael Bach as well.

It is difficult to know for sure because the styles of Johann Pachelbel and Johann Michael Bach are very alike. Though the piece I play here today is generally ascribed to Johann Pachelbel, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be composed by Johann Michael Bach anyway.

For the solo voice I use just one Principal. The accompaniment is played with a stopped flute and a soft reed.

All compositions-not-by-J-S-Bach from the Neumseister manuscript are available on my site: http://partitura.org/index.php/neumeister-chorale-not-by-j-s-bach-part-i/ and http://partitura.org/index.php/neumeister-chorale-not-by-j-s-bach-part-ii/
