This transcription is dedicated to my twin brother who was a recorder virtuoso in the 70s / 80s.
This piece, however, is the pinnacle of virtuoso baroque recorder compositions. It is basically unplayable, but there were and are artists who nevertheless master the balancing act.
My transcription brings the VPO to its limits. I might have been able to play it a little faster, but then the 32nd note runs blur and you hear that the whole thing is just an electronic gimmick with sampling - and we don't want that ... so 82 BPM are the measure of all things of this allegro ... and it is - not without reasons - called non molto ;-)
Vivaldi was a little rogue, you can hear the joke on every page of this tightly printed sheet of music.
But now forehand on to this virtuoso piece - have fun with the Friesach organ and its fantastic Trompette en chamade!
