Description: | Hello, everyone!!
I decided to experiment a little! (Yes, I know that can be dangerous.) :) This recording is unique in that you'll hear the same hymn twice - the first time with piano and organ (recorded via external mic) and then organ alone (recorded internally via the computer). This hymn is one of my very favorites, and it is very appropriate as we approach the Feast of Saint Patrick! Because his feast day almost always falls during Lent, I decided to surround the hymn with an improvisation in a minor key.
By the way, you’ll definitely want to use headphones – the sound of this pipe organ is amazing!! (Be sure to start the volume low.) The words for today’s hymn are below, in case you want to sing along! :)
“Be Thou My Vision”
Tune: Slane
Be thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
naught be all else to me save that thou art;
thou my best thought, by day or by night,
waking or sleeping, thy Presence my light.
Be thou my Wisdom, and thou my true Word;
I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord;
thou my great Father, and I thy true son,
thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one.
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise;
thou mine inheritance, now and always;
thou and thou only, the first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure thou art.
High King of heaven, my victory won,
may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
still by my Vision, O Ruler of all.
Amen.
Blessings! :)
