Arild Sandvold (1895 - 1984) was the organist at Oslo cathedral for most of his career and was the leading figure in Norwegian organ and choral music for much of the 20th century. Of his works as a composer this is his virtuosic organ masterpiece. The influence of Reger looms large, yet it has a lyrical expressiveness, harmonic language and virtuosic style all of its own. I loved it when I heard it in a recording by Bjorn Boysen many years ago, I think you will love it too. I was looking for something new to play on Chemnitz and went looking for a score, I found one last month in a specialist music store in Germany. It is recorded using default settings, including equal weighting on all 4 pairs of microphone perspectives. All registration is controlled via the pre-programmed crescendo pedal. See what you think, I think the rather pure and clean sounds of this instrument suit the piece very well
