Chromatic Fugue

Final Movement. Sonata No 4 Opus 98 in A minor. The fugue subject here is one octave of a descending chromatic scale. This feels a bit depressing to start with but it brightens up with what my score says is diatonic episodes of an interesting character. There is a double coda that makes more sense as it references two themes from the more famous opening movement.
