German composer Sven Hinz (b. 1979) was born in Bad Arolsen and was educated at the Pforta state school in Saxony-Anhalt, the Freiburg Academy of Music, and the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg. His studies were in music education, musicologist, linguistics, and German philology. Since his graduation in 2012, he has worked in Freiburg as a freelance composer, choir director, and teacher of phoenetics. He has taught phoenetics at the Medical Academy of Logopaedics and was the founder of the Freiburg Overtone and Experimental Choir. In 2013 and 2014 he was a phoenetician for the Institute of German Language in Mannheim. As a composer, Hinz has written more than 80 pieces of music, including four musicals, an oratorio and a mass, a numerous chamber and solo pieces.
