A work in progress but I think it's in a 'presentable' state for listening. Hope to upload a video version to YouTube before long.
One curious feature in this piece is a couple of bars (measures) that around 40% play ‘incorrectly’, according to the score (I've heard 22 versions). It’s almost an optical illusion by accidentals, especially since a misreading of the score sounds so natural (no pun intended!). As a tribute to those 40% (that includes the late, great, Jane P-S) I decided on a musical compromise by splitting those 2 bars into one of G major followed by the the augmented 5th for the 2nd leading nicely into the C major. I think this works at least as well as the written version. Also, a couple of versions I’ve heard include a particular single note ‘misread’ / ‘mistake’ which I like so much I’ve also incorporated it. I’ve attached an image showing those modifications I play.
