Description: | Horace F. Watling (1882-1959), a blind organist, was a pupil, and subsequently professor a the Royal Normal College for the Blind in Upper Norwood.
He was an organ student of H. L. Balfour, and won in a competition for a "devotional voluntary."
This lovely "Pastorale" can be found in Volume 71 of "The Organ Loft" series, and was published by The Vincent Music Co. Ltd. in 1911.
The score is attached below, but I have no photos of Horace Watling to share.
Later today, two versions of "At the Temple Gates", the grandiose, high romantic and at one time famous organ work of Gatty Sellars. |
