Description: | "The trumpet shall sound!"
Written at the end of July 2020 as a "thank you" to James Flores, who performed "Introduction and Passacaglia in D Minor" from Easter 2018. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YasODyUGuvo
I chose to perform this on Voxus' fantastic samplest of the sparkling Kuhn organ at the TUP in Essen. I am not aware of another instrument that has a Tuba en-chamade, and this novelty wonderful highlights Graham Twist's composition featuring some wonderfully unexpected harmonies!
Graham was born in West Yorkshire, England and earned degrees in education at the University of Huddersfield and Open University. He had a career as an educator, concluding with an appointment as Head of Junior School at Farringtons School in Chislehurst, Bromley. In retirement, Twist returned to a lifelong interest in music to pursue activities in organ playing and composition.
I also encourage you to listen to Graham's "Idyll" https://youtu.be/3ByBk37Y2XY
