Description:
"An der Saale hellem Strande" is a well known German folk song written by Franz Kugler at the Rudelsburg in 1826. Kugler used the melody (op. 27 No. 1) by Friedrich Ernst Fesca, which he had originally written in 1822 for Friedrich ("Maler") Müller's text Soldatenabschied (Heute scheid ich, morgen wandr' ich).

Already in 1996 I set the first part of the song to 4 voices, in 2018 part 2 was added.

We hear some verses of the song with an increasing number of stops on the beautiful organ of the protestant church in Lochtum, a small German town in the Harz Mountains.
