Guillaume-Gabriel Nivers, born around 1632 in Paris, where he died on November 30, 1714, is a French organist and composer.
He published 3 organ books
. 1. Organ Book Containing One Hundred Pieces of All Tones of the Church (1665).
. 2. Organ Book Containing the Mass and the Hymns of the Church (1667).
. 3. Eight Tone Organ Book of the Church (1675). 8 Suites.
Here is the ""Suite of the 4th tone", from book 1 (1665)...
The organ of Solignac probably dates from the beginning of the 17th century. It also comes from the Liège region in Belgium. It is an eight-foot organ, with eight stops and a tremant, a single 54-key keyboard and an 18-note pedal. The transmission is mechanical for notes and stops.
The organ sample set was recorded and produced by Sebastian Halas for Grand Orgue. It was taken over by AVO for a Hauptwerk version (like the original) and an extended version (3 keyboards and pedalboard).
