A. F. Schultz (1942–2019) — Chanson romanesque (2010) for organ
A. F. Schultz (1942–2019) was the pen name of Alan Schultz who had a long and active career as a conductor, composer, and organist. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Schultz served for many years as music director of the Southern Arizona Symphony and the Tucson Masterworks Chorale. As a composer, Schultz’s large output encompassed numerous choral and organ pieces as well as a number of symphonic works for orchestra. He has had long association with St. Michael & All Angels Church in Tucson, serving for decades as parish organist and choir director and also for 42 years as a beloved English teacher at the associated St. Michael’s School.
