*** Tonstück – Opus 60 nr. 16, composed by Johann Georg Herzog (1822-1909).
"Getragen und ruhig", "Sanfte Stimmen" and "Für die Passionszeit" are the only indications in my edition Opus 60 nr. 16.
It seems to be a lovely prelude on the Chorale "Vater Unser".
At first sight I didn't think this would be a big challenge to perform ... but soon it became clear that if you want to play the melody on a seperate manual (and I did), it becomes a lot more complicated.
Deviding your right hand between the melody and the top notes of the accompaniment (on the other manual) at the same time ... it sometimes hurts!
It took me some days to get it right (and hopefully the struggle is not audible). Well, I'm quite satisfied with this result ;-)
I play the solo part on the 2nd manual with the beautiful Oboe of the magnificent Walcker-Eule set that I will use for all 21 pieces of Opus 60.
For the (to be completed) opus 60: see playlist :-)
