Prelude in D minor by American composer Emma Louise Ashford (1850 - 1930).
E. L. Ashford grew up in a musical family in Delaware and held her first organist position at the age of 14.
In 1884 she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where her husband became the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at Vanderbilt University.
Emma played a crucial role in the musical life of Vanderbilt University, and composed over 600 pieces of music, among them several organ works.
My apologies.....but since the piece ends in three successive but identical chords, I couldn't help apply a bit of creative license and upping the pedal registration a tad. I mean, it would be a shame not to use the 32' Diapason to conclude the piece.....and that 16' Clarinet is just subtle ad polite enough to mix in well :)
It felt great playing it that way but I am not a 100% convinced it fulfills the intended use when listening back to it. Ow well.......
