German composer Christoph Ritter (b. 1985) was born in Wuppertal and studied at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. His teaches included Thierry Mechler, Margareta Hürholz, Johannes Schild, Reiner Schuhenn, and Robert Gsstl. He pursued post-collegiate training in choral conducting with Timo Nuoranne. As a composer, Ritter has written primarily choral music and has fulfilled commissions from a number of organizations including the Kammerchor Berlin, the Mädchenchor at Cologne Cathedral, and the Figuralchor Bonn. He has served as a church musician at St. Antonius in Wupperta-Barmen and in the Düsseldorf Eller/Lirenfeld area.
